I had a hemi surgery about a year ago that seems to me has not been successful? Six years ago I had a manipulation and that was the start of many bought of PT. I finally found a doc that said I had fractured it from the start and after many test suggested I have a hem replacement before the bone fell apart. Going into surgery I was told by the doc that his friend a surgeon thats out od state suggested a total replacement. After surgery he told me he just did the hem because the glenoid looked ok. I have a lot of discomfort/pain now that really is bothersome. I have talked with the surgeon and he says i am to young at 55 to have a total. It is my understanding that now I will have this discomfort /pain until the next replacement when this one wears out which could be 15 years if i am lucky or i guess i could insist on a total now. I am disappointed because this surgery I think is hard plus the money and time. Has this happened to any of you?
