To start things off, my current girlfriend is the only sexual partner I've ever had, and I am the only sexual partner she's ever had. I do realize people lie, and that is a possibility, but I figured I'd come here to discuss it before I push it onto her.

Basically, it breaks down like this: we've been having unprotected sex for about three weeks now, and this past monday I started getting a few pimples around my groin area (not on the penis itself). I have a small rash like place on the bottom left side where my penis is attached to the groin area, and a place where pimple-like things are showing up on the upper right corner of my groin (away from my penis).

I just got back from my doctor, and he said that it could either be folliculitis or herpes. I asked him what he thought it was, and he said it was about 50/50, that i'd have to come in a few weeks and take a blood test. A few of the pimples have a small amount of pus in them, not all of them. I have also plucked a few hairs from the middle of the pimples, and they come out with little pus-balls attached to the end of them.

Finally, I have experienced no pain (other than a little muscle pain, but I have just started a new exercise program, and have been pushing myself a little), which my doctor said was unusual if it were herpes. It's itched just a tiny bit over the past three days. No pain, no discharge, all things with my body seem normal.

Anyone have any opinions as to what it could be?

If you have puss in the pimples they can swab test it for herpes. You can request that if you wish. Herpes has symptoms like may other things and you really can't diagnose this type of thing over the internet.

As for the sexual partner, if there has ever been an oral sex in any way, any naked genital rubbing AT ALL, then there is the possibility to pass on herpes.

The probability that it is herpes is smaller based on the number of partners you have but I only have 3 and I caught it from one event. It is a very contagious virus.

Please be careful and use condoms always, even if you don't have herpes.
