I'm a 40 year old male and I receive cortisone shots bilateral every three months. My Ortho Doc advised me that knee replacement is the next step but I work two physically demanding jobs and have 4 daughters so I need to keep the green rolling in. The cortisone helps tremendously for about 6 weeks the. Starts tapering off, but, the problem I have is about 4-8 hours afterwards I start hiccuping and don't stop for at least two days. Impossible to sleep, interfering with work. I work a 24 hour shift at a busy fire station then off for 48. During the 48 I frame house in the daytime. Is there something OTC I can take to get rid of these damn things or even a prescription would be ok. Also, so I don't miss too much work I usually go to my family Doc and get an allergy shot. Is that too much testosterone and could it be causing these stupid hiccups? Thanks!
