Anybody about to go through this procedure needs to make sure they explore all methods available. In case there is confusion, this deals with correcting a varicocele. I was told 2 days tops by my doc and its day 11 and I can walk but it still hurts pretty bad and my left testicle feels twice as large as it was before the surgery, instead of the wormy, vein feeling, its more like a rock is in there now. Ask about emobilization!!! I read the pain is much less and the procedure isn't even invasive. My biggest problem is the suffering of my sex life. My partner and I usually had sex daily and now its looking like it may be awhile before I can feel comfortable enough to have orgasm. She is great and is taking wonderful care of me but note: your sex life will suffer. Also keep the doc posted with new developments. I have recently started having night sweats and the doc seemed pretty alarmed. I went in for a blood lab but I'm waiting for the results still. I recommend icing only fifteen minutes every hour because over icing causes the nerves to, for lack of a better word, start screaming. Also the depression from so much pain and discomfort in the genitals is more then you can imagine. I have had two fingers ripped off in a pizza rolling machine and the pain was like a splinter compared to this surgery. Ask the doc about everything you can because when they leave out details, like pain for two weeks and strange bruising and swelling, you lose confidence in them and the recovery process is much more to bear.
