Hi...seeking some advice and will try to be as clearas possible.
Some months ago after my son kicked my in the groin...i noticed a large (soft in texture) mass on my left testicle.....shortly after (and its hard to explain) some mild numbness or a throbbing-tinglong sensation in my left foot/leg.
After worrying myself sick i finally broke down and went to my family doc...she assured me it wasnt life threatening or "cancer" but she sent me home with nothing more than--your fine.
Ir actually went away for a while until ...my son again kicked me in the groin... (hey thats life wrestling with a 3 year old)
the symptons returned this time more noticeable..
1. lump or mass in left tiesticle
2. swollen or enlarged "vein" or tube (nothing on the right testticle)
^ the enlarged vein or tube was not present the original time so this is a new development
3. tingling, numb,throbbing sensation in left leg/foot
Based on that .....could anyone please give me their best opinion... on what my symptons appear as.... I'm DEAD scared of docs and get extreme high blood pressure just being in their office let alone having my boys poked and prodded at.
any advice is appreciated.

Hi
I got similar symptoms but mine don't seem to have been caused by any particular event.
I also have swollen blood vessels and tubing which was originally diagnosed as a virus/infection and i was prescribed anti-biotics. This didn't work and after a further 2 courses of anti-B's to treat it I was sent to the ultrasound dept at my local hospital.
FYI the infection they diagnosed if I remember correctly was diagnosed as: epididymitis (Though every Doctor I've seen seems to have a different variation on this name).
To date they have refused to do anything about this (They say they CAN but don't want to because "it might happen again" - So much for broken arms and legs). I now live frequently in pain with my left testicle and to top it all off I am now unable to stay out of work with it any longer waiting for a fix. I've now had to get a job and it is basically 7 hours of walking on patrol in a position similar to security. My local health authority I feel has basically legalised torture in my case and decided that I should live my life in pain which is extremely hard to live with.
The only thing I can suggest to you is that you mention the name of the infection I had to your Doctor. This might be an avenue that they haven't yet looked at and can cause considerable pain when not treated (beleive me I know - I've also had a twisted testicle in the past too so I know testicular pain is bad).
Unfortunately if they decide it isn't cancer or a torsion (twisted) then mens testicular health seems to be a very low priority - This is despite the fact that the local health authorities are always saying men should be very vigilant and always check themselves once a week.
With regards to the GP thing, I was also terrified like you. The thought of being operated on scared the life out of me. I've also had high BP in the past and a small problem with a fast pulse. Beleive me, once you've been once about the issue it only gets easier. They will only consider an operation as a last resort for this issue (beleive me I've almost begged). Even then, unless it's a twist (torsion) they'll probably do it under a local anaesthetic which unlike a general anaesthetic will allow you to be conscious throughout the entire 'minor' (as they call it) operation. The best thing you can do while waiting in waiting rooms etc is take something to read to calm your nerves - or Nintendo gameboy etc - Whatever distracts you.
Stay calm

I have the same thing. A few months ago I had some pain in my left testicle but after a bout a month or maybe less the pain went away. I still check that cord in my left testicle and it is still swollen but I only feel pain if I squeeze it or if I press the left side of my groin too hard.

Hey, im 14 years old and ive been to a doctor about a lump on my testicle around a year ago now but i got the clear, it was the long coil thing on each testicle, but one was bigger than the other which opposed no threat. However now a vein or tube on my left testicle has swollen for some reason which im not quite sure about. It only shows after a shower or hot bath (i assume it is because of the bath/ shower), it don't hurt or nothing but if squeezed slightly can cause a little pain. Please could someone give me advice as i am lost and confused

Hi All,
I am 31 years old and have pain in my festivals for over 8 weeks now. It started with a slight pain in the left testical that got more prominent over a three day period. I had an ultrasound done on the third day and little blood flow was seen. As a result, I was rushed to the hospital with a possible torsion. Upon examination by the urologist I was told everything looked fine and it was probably not a torsion but he was going to open me up to make sure. When I woke up I was told he stitched my festivals in place permanently and everything looked fine. I was sent home. After about a week of recovery from surgery I noticed the pain was still there mostly as the day progressed and I had a new pain from the stitches. Two weeks after the surgery the doc told me everything was fine and that I should not feel pain. Now after 8 weeks I am still in intense pain from the stitches and the original pain on the left. I had an ultrasound that showed a significant sized varicocele on the left side which confirmed what I thought as I can see a large bag of worms as the evening approaches that begins to hurt. I have now seen three urologist all of whom tell me I either do not feel pain or the pain is not from my festivals or the stitches. Their reasoning is that varicocele's do not cause pain in most people (I believe it does in my case as I am one of the unlucky view who feel the pain). Only I of the three agrees that the stitches are causing me pain but unfortunately after scheduling sugary to take them out he called to cancel because he wants to find out where the original pain is from. All three have since given up on helping me and say to take pain meds. I feel as though the medical community has completely failed me. I have read on several forums that varicocele surgery is simple and routine. I beg to differ as I have been begging to have the operation and the urologists refuse. I have also been begging to have the stitches out and they refuse. I am convinced the varicocele and the stitches are both causing me pain and since this is not a normal issue they don't want to touch my case. one of the docs said if they do the surgery I might still feel pain. I am willing to take the risk as doing the surgery might alleviate all my pain.
Does anyone have any advise for me? I am losing all hpoe that I will ever get better. I was very athletic and I am married. Now I cannot play any sports and sex just hurts. I am starting to think I will have to leave the country for help.

Hello fellow chronic testicular painer.. I have been having this exact same problem in my left testicle for about 3 years now (starting around 18.. I am now 21) I've been through the same worries and stress as you, been to just as many doctors and have seen 3 specialists. After many visits to the ER and urologist I found the "issue" regarding my problem. I went to this urologist and after about 20 seconds of moving my junk around he stated that I am missing a so called "anchor" that hold my tesicle in place. With out this anchor (both) of my tesicles are free to twist around as they please. He suggested to have a surgery where he would build up scare tissue around both testicles to hold them in place, much like the surgery last Geust stated he had to "hold them in place". I still havnt mustered up the courage (or time for that matter) to get it done. The doctor told me it was a minor surgery and not exactly crucial that I get it done. And I am a very active, athletic, avid gym goer. I have just been wrapping up my homies in briefs and whitey tightys and I have been doing alright. Other times are worse than others however. I understand how frustrating and bothersome this is.. I would say visit a urologist (a good one) and mention this "anchor" problem and see what he says.. Let me know how it goes because I know as I get older this problem will only worsen. Hope I helped at least a little bit or at least gave you a little security regarding your issue.
Let me know..
Luke
