Oh my goodness, I am not sure what to do here... I am having trouble keeping my sugars down. I have been diabetic for quite a while now, probably about 24 years. It started when I was at work and I started having some problems with my eyes. They were blurry and soon I couldn't see out of them. I am lucky someone at work gave me something to drink so that my eyes started feeling better. I then went to the doctor and found out I was diabetic. Once I lost weight and started eating right I noticed many of my symptoms of having diabetes went away. So I was real good for many years and not having anything wrong happen to me. Then I started to notice the blurriness come back again. It has been really a struggle to see out of my eyes. So I checked my sugars and it's been running in the low 200's. I am worrying about getting my sugars under control. I still need to drive so I have to have my sugars normal to do that. Does anyone have any ideas of what I should do to avoid high sugars while driving?

Hello Guest. I would be worried about your driving and experiencing high blood sugars, too. You should go to the doctor and give him your log book on your BG readings. This will let him/her know that you may need to go on oral diabetic medication if you are not already on it. If you are not compliant with your diet, you may need to decide what you are going to do about it. You need to watch your carbs and try to exercise daily to help you keep your blood sugar down.
What have you been doing to actively control your blood sugars?
