What are those home test infertility? somers

Hi! My brother was using one of these because he and his girlfriend were trying to conceive for about 9 months and couldn’t. He bought one of these tests in the pharmacy. It is very similar to home pregnancy test but instead of urine you use sperm as a sample.

It works by determining if the sperm concentration is above or below 20 million sperm cells per milliliter (million/mL). This is the amount used to indicate fertility. If you are under 20 million sperm cells per milliliter (million/mL), then you may be infertile or have less sperm ready for fertilization, if you have above 20, then you are ok.

There are two tests, so that you could repeat and check if the results match. The test works by coloring the sperm cells. The intensity of the color you get is compared to the color given as a reference.
If you results show that your count is below 20 million, it doesn’t really mean you are infertile (it could) but the amount of your sperm is low.

Once you are aware of this, you may seek professional help and not just keep trying in vain.
