I had a ferritin blood test done. I am still waiting for results I am on iron therpay, so this is the way that they are monitoring me. Anyway I would like to know what the ideal ferritin level is for woman. Last time it was low I think 20 ng/ml.

I think that ferritin level for women is between 18-160 ng/mL. They need to test your ferritin because ferritin is a protein in the body that binds to iron. Most of the iron stored in the body is attached to ferritin: in the liver, spleen, skeletal muscles, and bone marrow. So, the amount of ferritin in the blood indicates the amount of iron stored in your body.
