hooded clitoris, do I need to have it cut down?

Hi, so today I took a mirror and really examined my lower region and I noticed my clit is covered fully by the hood. It's not embedded per say, but I have to use my fingers to expose it. I don't really get my feeling to if I rub it when I'm in the shower or something. Is there something I can do to ease the skin off or will I have to have it cut down?

Hi sorry I don't have the same issue, but I cannot find my actual clitoris. If I were to lift up the hood it is not exposed in any way. I still get pleasure from it, but is it normal to not be able to see it, even when I lift up the hood? Its as if the hood won't go back far enough. Should I also have a bit of the hood removed?

I am a great believer in IF it was there when you were born leave it! I don't believe in male or female circumsicsion! IF you still get pleasure it's not biggy! That means there are nerves in your clitoris! So don't mess with it! I TRULY believe that IF you were to get the hood cut back, you could actually open a whole can of worms! And also think of it in another way, IF you expose your clitoris - and there is no barrier between that and your underpants, or jeans etc. You will ALWAYS be "on" I'm sure you understand what I'm saying!? In this day and age of vaginal beautification I believe there is FAR too much focus on the vagain and surround sex organs! I couldn't care less if mine looks like a heart, died blue, and has a "special' piercing, and has had a Labioplasty and a Vaginoplasty! It is CRAZY to be so obsessed with a private thing! I can understand if it is causing you pain, or interfering with a healthy sex life! BUT to do ALL of this to their genitalia = to equal some standard put on by some sex tape star! I do NOT get! I am only 46 but I'm pretty old fashioned about our anatomy! If it's not broken don't break it! Does that make sense!?

I truly believe that it is time for women to say "I'm REALLY happy with the way I am thankyou, and I don't need to "mutilate" myself for someone elses ideas! One more thing to think about! In certain parts of the world Female circumcision takes places on 12 and 13 year old girls with crude tools the "doctors" hack away at the girls genitalia! They bleed and scream and the ONLY reason why they do this is to STOP a young girl/woman from having sexual pleasure and to take away their sex organ! Girls have died - from complication! And the western world is fighting for this NEVER to set up shop, and it is starting to pop up in scummy areas and insisted on by the community that they come from! So the way I see it is similar to what these poor girls go through! We are changing ourselves to a community standard! Sorry for the rant, but we have had a couple of cases in Canada that girls have been forced by their mothers to have this done! And an investigation was done on a "clinic"! I think that the more it is done the more it WILL be done! So just be happy with what you have - as long as you have feeling then everything is fine!

No I totally get what you are saying. Just, everyone that I've heard of, say they can see theirs, so for me not to be able to makes me think its not right. So I just wanted to know if it is also normal to not be able to see your clit, even when lifting back the hood.

Yes I'll get back to your question now!! LOL Yes it's normal! Every one of us is different! And the clitoris is quite small - you would be best to see it when aroused! As it grows in size at that time - there are more nerves in a clitoris then any other area of the body. And no two women are alike with the shape of there's! It is the size of a small Pea and involves the hood as well! In fact some women have FAR too much sensitivity of their clitoris they can't even stand being touched! Others need a bit more touch! It just all depends that's all! Some women become aroused with 2nd erogenous areas, or vaginal stimulation over clitoral and other women are the opposite! Thus exploration being encouraged for individuals and or partners! Hopefully I FINALLY answered you question?! LOL

No, even if I rub it I still get no pleasure and have to push down against the bone to feel something, not directly to the clit. I feel like I have no natural lubrication because it dries out too quickly. I could rub it and rub it and still feel nothing. Is something wrong?

The reason for lack of feeling there could be from a couple of reasons.! 1. How is your hair and your energy level? 2. Do you have tremors if you haven't eaten? Do you have a lot of thirst issues? IF you sit down for awhile, what color is your feet and legs?

I keep it pretty well groomed. I'm diabetic, and I thought it was nerve damage, but I keep my sugar levels maintained and I'm active plus I eat healthy...my feet stay the same color.

Even though a you have well balanced sugars, you can STILL have nerve damage after a certain amount of time! I don't know if your diabetes has anything to do with lack of stimulation of your clitoris. Due to us being inundated with sex talk and images of writhing women and talk about orgasm's and stimulation etc etc. it does a HUGE disservice to women and relationships as a whole! Everyone of us are different, and just like our thumb prints, the differences also affect our genitalia! Some women NEVER experience clitoral stimulation - some it feels VERY painful or just blah! and others the area is worked on and worked on till she is raw! Some women are only vaginally stimulated, and some are only clitorally stimulated! And I truly believe that when there is this expectation for a partner to hit the "jackpot" everytime he or she hit's the clitoral spot, then when this doesn't happen it can be VERY detrimental to the relationship as a whole! The man or woman thinks they are doing something wrong, the woman thinks that there is something wrong with her! Lack of stimulation in one area, can be from illness, stress, previous pain, embarrassment, and or it just isn't stimulated! Does it mean that there is "something wrong with us?" NO! It means that either you need to see if you can work through the issues that are stopping the stimulation, OR you just move on to what DOES stimulate you! So to both of you, IF you think there is a reason for the lack of stimulation then it needs to be looked at! And IF there is not and apparent reason - ESPECIALLY past pelvic trauma, or illness - then move on to what you enjoy and don't worry about an area the size of a pea!

I have never had an orgasm during sex and it is very difficult to have one with manual stimulation. I didn't know about the "hood" until recently when I started seeing a new guy and he said it looks different. So I started researching and here I am. It is VERY rare for a guy to be able to make me orgasm and it takes me a while too. So much so that it takes the fun out of it for everyone. It's also kind of embarrassing. Is there anything I can do? Would I be a case where having surgery would be an option?

Can you see your clit? Can you or he touch it? If you/he can actually see and touch it I think you just need to practice doing different things to figure out what works. If you cannot find it you might benefit from seeing a doctor/surgeon to find out if it can be outed for you.
