My daughter has problem with ear wax. Her condition is cerumen obturans, as her doctor explained to us. Is this something dangerous? How can we treat this condition? Doctor said that washing out the wax will be enough but is that is? I mean, should not she take some meds, or shouldn’t there be some procedure for this?

Therapy really is that simple. It is also important that patient did not have a bacterial infection recently, because then, washing out might just spread the bacteria further into the ear structure. There really is no need for some complex procedure, and it is also not wise to use any instrument to pull the wax out, it might endanger your daughter’s hearing.
