A hot bath WILL NOT help a burn. I've tried this before and ended up with blisters all over.

CARROT JUICE! CARROT JUICE! CARROT JUICE!

fool proof. there are huge amounts of beta carotine, wich is essential for the skin.

When you get home from bieng out in the sun and u realize you have a sunburn out of this world, 1st thing that should come to our mind is carrot juice.
I am sitting here as proof that it works.

Organic!!! look for organic carrot juice!

or if u have your own juicer, make your own! to make the taste a little sweeter and an apple!

This works.

My goodness all these responses and MOST are pure c**p. Use Noxema on a Burn... a COOL shower and Noxema will Cool the skin, MOISTURIZE the skin and help aid in fast healing WITHOUT the peeling. Put the Noxema on your skin and LEAVE it there, Until it has a chance to absorb. The Ingrediants in the Noxema will cool your skin, soothe the burn and keep the skin moist to prevent peeling. Once it is Absorbed, Reapply as needed. I have done this for Years, and 9 times outta 10, The burn will be gone the next day.

An old family remedy is to put vinegar on a sunburn. It smell bad, but it works really well.

Hello,

I was out in the sun from 10-3pm on a nice summer day. I didn't use sunscreen and I knew what was at stake. I came home red hot and with sun burn. There has been no peeling nor any blisters or any dry skin (except a couple of spots where my old pimples use to be....gross). I've used Aloe vera lotion and it has helped. Its been two days and I'm still kinda red.

If I apply sunscreen lotion before heading out on another hot summer day (while still being semi-red) is it safe for me to enjoy another beach day?

Thanks

I am red. i was in the sun from 8-4 today, and I did not apply sunscreen. I have always found that with constant showers(same temperature as usual) will turn the red to a brown. This may not work for you as I never seem to peel after burning either. Hope this helps ;)

Aloe Vera is good for healing the skin and helping with the pain, but for people who peel easily it usually isn't enough. Myself personally have never been able to tan and I'm 27 male and get a good bit of sun and that's bc I always peel, especially after showers. While aloe Vera helped it usually wasn't enough for me. I recommend ocean potion or a similar product by a competitor. It has aloe Vera in it, but also has skin moisturizers, vitamins, seaweed extract, and lots of other good things I don't remember. They have several different good products too including a skin darkener. I've never been tanned in my life till I discovered this last year through my brother who has the same peeling problems, and got quite dark and kept it the whole summer. Looking forward to the beach this upcoming summer and not being the pasty white guy who gets burned easily again.

take a rag/ small towel and soak it in aloe vera. then ring it out until it seems damp. place it over burnt area(s) and ur done. it avoids the goopy mess of pure aloe vera!!!

when you take a really hot bath after getting a sun burn the reason for the subsiding pain is the damaged nerve endings. In fact I'd do the complete opposition and take a cold shower/bath so that your body can bring it's temp. back down. The best thing to do is just apply a lot of aloe with the pain reliever and then a lot of moisturizer w/ aloe in it.
