ween yourself off take 5 mg or so per day for a week or 2 before you stop all the way and you should not withdraw bad at all if its only been since June. 25 mg is really not much to come off of

Methadone test can be found online for $2.50 a pop. I'm not sure why you think it's expensive. And in all reality, I have failed a methadone drug test after 12 days after taking the drug. And it was my first time ever taking it. It stays in your liver and is very hard to get rid of. To be safe you should wait at least 21 days before taking a drug test after your last dose of methadone. If you snort it then it should'nt take as long, but if you swallow them like i did, it will stay in your system for a long time.. especially if you weigh over 200lbs and that is a promise

my brother has been abusing methadone for years and recently started suboxone treatment... his employer did a random drug test about 5 weeks after he stopped using methadone all together and he still tested positive for it.... We can't figure out why this happened...

When they do a urine test methadone comes up as an opiate. I take methadone on a daily basis and have for a few years. I;m a cancer survivor and got addicted to oxycontin. Now I take methadone to manage the pain. Take the urine test and be honest. They dont have to know why you take it. Alot of us that take it are not or have ever been a drug addict. So as long as you have a legal prescription they won't hold it against you..........
oh and about the guy that took the test and tested positive after 5 weeks.............the methadone is stored in your bodys tissues. He was on it for years,,,,,,,its not gonna be out of his system for months!

methadone stayed in my system longer than 5 days and i only took a few tabs. it ruined my chances of a normal life because my doctor will no longer prescribe narcotics for me. i have been on narcotics since 1993 for severe pain and cluster headaches. becareful and dont rely on this 3 to 5 days....GL

Methadone is BIG trouble. I am a 63 yo male and was taking 30 mg per day following a spinal fusion.Chronic pain. Last Fri I had been stopped for 5 full days and thought I was safe to start taking Naltrexone. Thought I was being safe....even split the the 50mg tablet in half. It was the worst experience of my life, I wound up in hospital. I won't take any more Naltrexone for 2 more weeks....that will be a total of 3 weeks from the half dose. I'll take a half and be terrified when I do. Methadone is nothing to be taken lightly. I haven't had any craving but I want the Pain Clinic scenario out of my life!!! Best Luck with the SXXX

I can tell you that I took Methadone pills for three days, 6 a day being 60 mg and I tested positive 13 days later. Does anyone have any insight on how to pass a drug test if this is in your system. I recently took 60mg and I have to take a drug test 8 days later. What are the chances it will still be in my system?

Methadone can be detected in a 12 panel test. In a 5 panel test that only tests for opiates, benzos, THC, meth and cocaine, it will not show up. From experiance most employers dont go the extra mile and pay for the 12 panel tests or send it off to a lab. Methadone stays in ones system anywhere from 2-10 days and its not detected for up to 2 hours after you take it. Methadone is probably one of the easiest drugs to take and get away with it.

I have just recently stopped taking my methadone as I was just sick and tired of the same old ritual and wanted to be free of it . I had weened myself from 30 ml to 9 ml and jumped of from there. Everyone had me convienced that this was the worst move ever but I feel alright other then I feel a little bit more dragged out then ever and some minor back discomfort but the not sleeping is starting to catch up. My question is how long with I feel like this and when will the meth be out of my sysytem, I am a mother of 3 so I am active, I drink water not plenty but I do drink it and I have some extra weight but not obese.
Any suggestions or comments would be well appreciated

I tested positive for Methadone after 9 days, while I was on probation. I was on the strictest form of probation and they were using the most expensive test available (gas chromatography). Often a potential employer won't test for methadone, because it doesn't show up in the 5 or 7-panel tests. They have to pay extra for a 10-panel test to catch it. Even if it does show up in his test, if he was prescribed methadone, there is nothing to worry about. I took a urine test for a job once, and it also tested positive for methadone, but I was hired and not even questioned about it. The only reason I found out about it is because after a couple of months of working there, I found out my boss was also on methadone and she told me she knew I was, too.
