I dropped 6 pounds in todays heat and humidity during a 34 minute, 4 mile run and about 30 minutes of weight lifting afterwards.

I'm soaked. Looks like you hit me with a fire-hose. Even on cool mornings I am still soaked. I tried weighing myself before/after and I lose about 2kg consistently on a 12km 1hour run.
2kg = 2L of water, so I'm sweating roughly 2L. On that particular run I don't drink, so I don't add back any fluid weight.

It's perfectly healthy to sweat while exercising. You just have to be certain to replenish your body when you're done.

I live in south florida where it's always HOT HOT HOT(as you can imagine). I tend to sweat about 2-3lbs per hour. Because of this, I started running with a camelbak.
It makes a huge difference here in the heat. I've also noticed it helps keep my HR stable during long runs. Surprisingly, it doesn't bother me at all while I run. I figured it woudl be annoying, but it's actually easy to run with.

Hey, on Sunday I remembered to weigh myself before & after. For my 8.5 miler I sweated off 3.5 pounds.
I told a friend & he asked "Is that healthy?" (This from a guy who is 50 lbs overweight!)
