i just learned of a physical test i have to take which contains a 1.5 mile run. the minimum time for my age (21) is 12:51, and i ran an 8:50 mile last night when i was evaluating my progress. this would translate into a 13:15 1.5 mile if i was able to maintain that pace, which means i am almost 30 seconds off of my goal. today is november 9th, and the test is november 20th. i need to pass this test, does anyone have any suggestions, tips, methods, or anything i can do to get my time safely below the 12:51 required time for the 1.5 mile. one other thing, i ran last night when it was cold and i had already strained my muscles, so my time might possibly be a little faster, but i am still quite a bit off from where i need to be. please help! anything

You don't have much time.

Here's what I'd reccommend on such short notice.

Run every other day.

Run your distance...1.5 miles

Keep pushing it...work to get faster...do a race specific run.

That's pretty much all you can do with this small amount of time. You're not going to be able to do much else.
