Hi,
I have been prescribed anticoagulants and thyroxine for medical reasons. I have been on on throxine for the last 9 years, and I have found that my cognitive functions are being affected when I go on even moderate amounts of alcohol (even 3 glasses of beer a week!)
I have given up alcohol for the last 3 months, and miraculously my cognitive functions have improved by leaps. My speech is clearer, my thinking is rational, and my frustration thresholds are commendable.
I wonder if someone can throw any light on warfarin (anticoagulant,) thryoxine, and related to alcohol intolorance, accumulated or drug reactions?
Thanks
Davidson

Hi Davidson, it sounds like you were definitely having a drug interaction with thryoxine so I'm glad you got off it! A LOT of drugs have interactions with alcohol so I think it's best when you are on a drug to not bother with it at all. I am glad to hear you're doing well altogether. Does anyone else have any experiences like this?
