I started feeling this too and it’s ever since I got a cat. If you have a cat or a hairy pet it might be that their hair is in the air. MAYBE I’m not sure but it is know to cause pain in the lungs from breathing in cat hair

If it was actually pet hair then it would go away with drinking, gargling ect.. So stop blaming pets

I have something similar. Have any of you been to the dentist beforehand?
I had some work done on my front teeth and they put a sealant on the inner surface of my four front top teeth and told me it might feel shardy for a while. Im heading into my third year of this and its making my mouth tongue and gums very sore and i get ulcers frequently. I've been to several other dentists about it and the responses have been disappointing to say the least. It varies from inferring I'm crazy to auto immune disease. I've had blood tests done and still no resolution. I can feel sharp ribbons almost like plastic or fibreglass peeling off my teeth. It could be just my teeth dissolving, i dunno? One thing i read was that they paint acid onto the tooth surface before they put the sealant on, so I'm thinking my teeth are dissolving now that I've spent the last 3 years trying to wiggle off the shards. I can see that my teeth are translucent looking and one is noticably shorter. Just so distraught because it doesnt stop 25/7 and i have a foul salty chemical taste all the time too. I cant accept that this is imaginary. I do have a cat though. Going to the doctor on 24th to ask to be referred to a specialist. Hope you all find resolution and what the hell this is.

I also have it. I've noticed it happens mainly n when I get dehydrated. I feel like maybe its tiny lint like from the dryer and I'm only noticing it because of the dehydration. It can last a few days for me so I just gargle with really warm water several times a day and CONSTANTLY CHEW GUM!!! The gum keeps me from noticing it as much and it doesn't drive me as crazy.

It's due to how the simulation makes us feel eating something. The taste receptors are fritzing. For so many people to have this it means there's a problem with the simulation it's self. Rip existence

Ya Ive had this same problem going on for months. I call it phantom hair syndrome but idk wtf it is. It's a taste bud on the right side of my tongue towards the back if I touch it it feels just like what everyone is describing. My doctor said it could be from acid reflux at night but I doubt that. It's one of the most infuriating feelings too. I don't know what's caused it other than possibly my taste bud is rubbing against my teeth and causing it to be inflamed but again no clue for sure in a few months I'm going to a specialist to hopefully figure this out once and for all.

I was so excited to find these comments because I thought forsure that I was the only one. It began 10 days ago where I feel a fine piece of hair on my tongue. I' finally had an ENT check it with his bright light and he saw nothing. Im not even sure he believed me, but it's driving me crazy. Any answers out there? If he couldn't see anything, I assume there's nothing there to see. Now what!?

ITS GONE!! I'd tried everything. Using Nystatin to treat it as Oral Thrush, gargling with warm salt water, using a tongue scraper. Nothing worked, and despite the fact that all Doctors assured me there was no hair in my mouth, I could feel it and it was driving me crazy! Then my Dr. Suggested eating fresh pineapple. I let a chunk of the pineapple sit on my tongue...moving it around in my mouth for 1-2 minutes before slowly chewing and swallowing it. I did this with 5-6 pieces yesterday and by last night I knew things were getting better. I tried the same thing today, but by the time I got to the 3rd piece, my mouth burned too much to continue. ( pineapple, of course, is highly acidic). The burning went away and so did the feeling of hair in my mouth. TRY IT - it really worked for me!

Not sure if you all realize we're on a health site? LOL Click the link above ^^^^ by Dhruv Gupta, MD. He gave a lot of good answers back In 2020 lol. It is crazy though, didn't expect to find this many people dealing with the same annoying feeling!
