I am having the same issues. I finally seen some of them in my hair. The size is like a single sugar grain or smaller. The color of them appears to be white or yellow. After feeling like I had a couple hundred in my hair I decided to take 91% Isopropyl (rubbing alcohol) soak my entire head. They suddenly appeared stop moving. I started using lice comb to see if I could capture any. I started combing out hundreds of small white dots. It almost appears to be eggs. The small white dots seemed to be coming off my scalp or very close to scalp line. I can only get them to come out by pouring alcohol all over my head. The only issue is by the next night they are back in my hair. Or they keep hatching in my head. Please help!!! I’ve tried 15 different lice treatments. Plus have replaced new mattress and two couches. I’m ready to shave my head if it help. I am very desperate!

I experienced such and I was prescribed worm medications and because I hadn’t dewormed in over 20 years was given three doses for three days and all the madness ended. I was told if it persists to repeat after three weeks. Now they have left my body, they are now on some particular woolly like clothes. Whenever I put those clothes on, all hell breaks loose. So I just try to avoid wearing those clothes for now.

first of all, I want to say thank you so much for taking the time out to write about this. I am going back brought the same thing. Trying different things and none of them really working. What is the name of this insect? I had no idea anything like this even existed. This is very hard on me. I have a lot of anxiety and depression. My girlfriend thinks I’m crazy and that I’m imagining all of this. I have even questioned my own sanity. It’s a very hard thing to deal with and you’re right all the cleaning is exhausting especially if you have to do it by yourself. I work a full-time job and most of the time I only get one day off a week. On the other six days usually working overtime on those. Anyway I will try the things you say to try. I’ve got a couple of questions maybe you can answer them.
1 What are the name of these insects?
2 How long did you have to treat yourself with the sulfur etc. before they were gone?
3 What part of the country do you live in I think a lot of it has to do with the climate as to where they are I live in Northwest Louisiana. It’s very hot and humid here in the summertime.

Once again, thank you so much for your help.

I don't understand why this isn't a more common problem. These little buggers should be everywhere around the globe given how easily they spread and how hard they are to eliminate!

I stayed in a cheap budget hotel for 2 weeks while I was on a (self funded) business trip. I felt crawling sensations the first night but thought the room was infested with fleas so I wasn't overly concerned about it. Big mistake! I should have checked out and ran screaming into the night immediately at the first sensation but like all of you I had never heard of this before and so I stuck it out for the entire 2 weeks.

I was very careful when I left. I put all my clothing in plastic bags and when I got home I immediately disrobed and jumped in the shower. But it didnt matter, despite my best efforts, they followed me home!

It is now 1 year later. Ive never seen a bug yet the crawling sensation is always there especially at night. Ive tried all the suggested remedies. Neem oil, ammonia, alcohol, sulfur, bleach, borax, etc etc etc and nothing has worked to rid me of these pests. Theyre in my clothes, bedding, and on my body constantly.

Chicken mites (also called red mites) are much larger than the northern fowl mite or tropical rate mites and theyve been a scourge on poultry farms since poultry farming was invented. The pesticide Permethrin has been so overused globally to eradicate them that theyve become resistant to it. Our industrial farming practices has created this super bug, I do believe.

I also want address the notion that bird mites cant live off human blood and they'll die within 8 weeks to 8 months without a bird host. That is written all over the internet and cited in many scholarly articles with .edu addresses but the source of this info was a study was done by the US government in the 1950s! Things have changed since then! With a 1 week span from birth to reproduction these mites have gone through millions and millions of reproductive cycles and theyve evolved and adapted. What hasnt evolved is our scientific literature. There needs to be research into this asap!

Did you get a name for those things?

I think they're moth larvae. There are tiny little moths that get in the house and they lay eggs in your clothes. Anyway, they have tiny predatory wasps that can kill them. When they're gone the wasps die. It's just a theory

girl I totally get you. I've been feeling this for years. I spray my home with Lysol and allersearch daily. It helps a lot. Hope it helps you! I clean my floors with Pine Sol also because it helps kill mites and microbes that cause allergies.

Thank you. I rent. In my attic I have birds in there. Management has been " taking care of it". We had a storm about a year & a half ago & it tore half of my siding off. All they did was staple the big pieces together. I started complaining June of 2020. Today is July of 2022 & still nothing being done. My problem started in the fall/winter of 2020. It got worse later in the spring of 2021. Now I have something to work with. Thank you again for posting this.
