Although I do not have 3 complete seperate kidneys, I have what you call a duplex kidney. During developement, my right kidney broke in to two, but kept growing at the same time, so I have like a 7/8 kidney and a 1/2 a kidney on one side, which both have their own ureter attached to them but join up again before reaching the bladder. So those Kidneys arent 100% perfect. Infact, both my kidneys ont eh right side only do 32% of the overall work, leaving my left strong kidney doing 68%, so If I loose my left kidney, I'm on dialisys for the rest of my life.. Sounds fun eh?
Don't underestimate your kidneys, they can royally f**k you over.
Oh and not a yr ago, I had a kidney infection, that got in to my blood stream and I got blood poisoning. Causing me to spend a week and my 19th birthday in a hospital .

I am a 45 year old man, I was born with three kidneys. two on my left side and one on the right. Other than the need of driking a gallon of water per day, I have never had any problem with it. I had a kidney stones for a few times but I passed them by drinking beer. I am not a drinker so for me to have a beer is like taking a medicine, it is actually much better than Cranberry juice but thats about personal taste.
At my age I can say that I have never suffered from flu and other common diseases, actually it is very rare for me to get sick of anything so after all, I think that having three kidneys were a good thing, especially when all three work
