I have been getting no help from forums lately, but hopefully we'll give it one more shot.
When I was 17, I had my first kidney infection that was just intense pain I couldn't even move.. I was addmitted to the hospital for 2 weeks, and after running tests, they found I had 3 kidneys. I then had stents placed and removed. After that, I continued to have horrible kidney infections for about 2 years until they finally decided to do surgery. I had my ureters reimplanted (to solve reflux). This was in Dec. 2006. We thought the surgery was pretty successful up until now. I had no infections until the past month or so, I'd had 2 horrible ones where I was addmitted for a week. My regular urologist referred me to a pediatric urologist.. who also said he couldn't find anything wrong other than all of the urine not draining completely from my 3rd kidney.
So what do I do? Sit here in pain forever because they can't find anything wrong? Do I have some sort of kidney disease? I'm sick of going through this..

I don't really know what you could do about your problem, but is it possible to seek a second opinion from a different nephrologist/urologist? I think that's what I'd do. I have Stage 2 CKD myself and find it all quite scarey.

There was a topic on here all about people with 3 kidneys. Im not sure how to get you onto it. Ill have a search around an see what i can do. My daughter has 2 kidneys but one is duplex... Divided into 2. She has been in hospital a lot over the last few years. They have done lots of tests an not really come up with an answer. Just say "your plumbing isnt right, so your prone to infections".....That helps......NOT.

Put "3 Kidneys" in the search box an its the first one. Click on it an everyone who has add to the forum is there. Have a read. If you post a reply people with the same prob will hopefully help you. Good luck

You need to ask if removing the third and not draining kidney could be and option that could help you. If that is the problem then taking it out could solve it. You don't need it anyway.
