hey im 17 years old, and i have never had sex. like ive fooled around but never to the point where i went all the way. When i was about 14 or 15 i had such bad cramps that i would have to stay home from school the first day just to have some comfort, but thankfullly that pain stopped. Except for the past 2 months that is. last month my period was very light to begin with and i normally start of with it a little heavier. I got my period yesturday and the same pain i had when i was younger came back. i could not go to my grandmas house considering i was in so much pain. now i went to the bathroom this morning and the blood is not what it has been for my whole life ive had my period. im not sure how to explain it so im going to try the best i can. its like when i wipe it looks like light red wateryy .. and when i first sit on the toliet it looks like a (sorta )stringy (i say stringy because its thick but also its just like a line of blood that comes out) dark in some places light in the other gel thats coming out. and ive never had this happen before.

Hi there. Just a few words of advice since you did say that you were engaging in some sexual activity, but that you have not gone all the way. I guess you mean you haven't had sexual intercourse yet. At 17 you must be careful that whatever sexual acitivity you are engaging in that the male partner is not infected with a STD. It's possible that you may have contracted an STD even if you are not engaging in sexual intercourse. Please find an adult in your family who you can talk to and tell them, so that that person who you feel you can trust will make sure you stay safe. Any change in your menstruation should be cause for concern, but also see if you can go to a doctor who will be better able to answer any GYN questions you may have. It would be great if you could talk to your Mom, Dad or Legal Guardian about your worries. Stay safe and enjoy your youth. Sex, the good part and all its maladies will come eventually. Don't rush to grow up.

To me it sounds like a clots, which is common and can happen from time to time...would that be what you would say it is?
