I think you are exactly right on the staying away from bad foods part. Lately I have experienced loud heartbeat somewhat irregular at night or when sitting quietly. I had all the tests done 3 days ago & blood work, it all turned out fine but in a few days from now I have to wear a 24 hour heart monitor because my heart rate was between 105-115. My blood pressure was also just over the normal range like you. Not sure what the next step is after this. I have had echo-cardiograms done in the past as I have a narrowing of the heart valve, but all these symptoms that I'm having now are new. I'm a female in my late 30's not overweight. I'm going to try hard to stay away from fatty foods etc. & coffee. Thank you for your post.

This happens to me when I lay on my rightside. If I lay on my back it stops. Is it only on your side?

three months ago I started taking a new med. My heart beat became very hard and anything I do takes my breath. I also have trouble sleeping. I started taking an anti-depressant which helps some and I take an over-the-counter sleep ad. This med is the only treatment for my problem so I can't stop.

I am also experiencing a heavy heartbeat, usually I feel it when sitting or lying in bed, it is not irregular but I did find it started sometime after taking Crestor and I stopped using it but heavy heartbeat remains, my doctor suggested it might anxiety related and prescribed Xanax before sleep but I also feel as if there must be something wrong and I can't find answers. It is very discomforting but not painful, feels like my heartbeat is up in my throat and my sinus gets heavy at these times as wekl

I have spent the last year trying to get a diagnosis to a very heavy heartbeat that wakes me up. I am 50 and athletic. I had a stress test and heart ultrasound. Nothing. I then met a gastrointestinal doc and had a scope done of my intestinalstorage. Diagnosis.... chronic gastritis. Swelling of the stomach lining. I didn't know I have food irritations that trigger. I am working on wholistic approach. Aloe Vera juice, stress J for calm internal nerve, pro biotics. Talk to your local herb shop.

Hi all, just reading through this, but for me I feel my heart beats faster/harder when I'm dehydrated. Which can happen after drinking, smoking, or too much fun in the sun. When my heart beats hard in bed, I go and chug a bunch of water, and the problem seems to go away. Hope this helps someone!

Hey guys don't worry about it, it's just a very common symptom of anxiety and the more you dwell on it the worse it gets. If you can find a way to distract yourself, you will see that it should eventually disappear. Trust me I know it seems that I am making I sound easy but I faced 5 years of GAD (general anxiety disorder), something that is supposed to only be suppressed by meds and is considered chronic, but I overcame it, thus being a major symptom of mine as well, and to be honest is still here at times, but I am now aware of it and it is more of an annoyance rather than anything else.

My blood pressure is almost exactly the same as yours the last time I went to the doctor and I've had my heart rate keeping me awake at night. I think it is a combination of low blood pressure and anxiety.

Hope you are getting the help you need. This post is troubling. Suicide is not a form of relief. Suicide is the end of life. You can get relief in other ways. Keep looking for the medical answer.
