What you states ia exactly the same as what I am feeling. I knelt on my desk to try and retrieve my phone from behind it and a couple of inches below my left knee toward the outside below the skin, I felt an intese burnning sensation as if I were being stabbes with a soldering iron. After repositioning, the pain leaves about 5 seconds later but the skin in the area ia numb. Sometimes I get an itch in that same spot under the skin but cannot get to it because its under the skin and I can feel my scratching. Did you ever find a way to solve thia problem? I would greatly benefit from the info if you did.

Same symptoms as all of you. Similarly, I started exercising again last week, which is when it started about 3 days ago. I luckily found this group chat here and one of the people was a 28 year old runner who referenced the IT Band. Fortunately I have a foam roller and some sun breeze essential oil. I put pressure on the area just below the knee cap and to the right ( of my right knee ) and with enough pressure by hand was able to replicate the pain. I then messaged it for about 15 minutes with the oil, then I foam rolled my IT Band near the outer, mid-thigh area and found immediate relief. I'll continue this routine and start doing more stretching and foam rolling before and after workouts. Hope this helps, it helped me and removed that terrible carpet burning sensation.
