I went to the ER because I was having really bad pain down in the bag area. I was diagnosed with a UTI, and folliculitis. I'm not quite sure if they diagnosed me correctly because I'm having really bad pain down there for about a week now.. I thought it was a yeast infection at first but it turns out its a urinary tract infection. And its very very painful. Not only does it burn when I pee but it hurts so bad I can barely wipe down there. The whole vagina area is red and sore. And as for the follicles its all around the lips of my vagina. I can feel about 15 of them, and they hurt bad. When I try cleaning it hurts when I shower it hurts so bad. I put vagisil down there and it doesn't seem to work that well. The bumps hurt when I walk or sit. I switched to 100% cotton loose fitting underwear, I been taking urinary relief pills from Azo and prescribed macrobid but it doesn't seem to get any better. If anyone has this type of problem please let me know what you have done to heal it faster.

hi, if its antibiotics you have to take for it then they normally take 3 days to start to your and you don't normally find any relief until about the fith day. Have you tried drinking Cranberry juice to help with the UTI?

Today would be the third day that I have been taking the antibiotics, no relief yet I feel like it's getting worse. Especially when I pee, I feel the urge to scream. As well as when I wipe down there. The whole entire area is red and sore an I tried to look best I could an it looks like little tears that are a darker red.. I have been taking cranberry tablets, 2 three times a day.

well the antibiotics would only just be in your system and starting to work so maybe by tomorrow you may notice a slight change, the Cranberry tablets take longer to get into the system compared to the juice so that may take a while to. To help with the soreness you could try vagisil cream if its available where you are as that's for feminine problems :-)

I really hope it gets better. Im going to have to switch to cranberry juice instead thanks for that tip.. I have been using vagisil that seems to make it burn more. Do you know if putting A&D down there would make any difference? I've googled that some people do put it down there :/ I just need anything and every type of tip that could help. The pain is excruciating. I cant take it anymore.

I don't actually know if it would be ok as I don't actually know what A&D is, I have googled it but couldn't find anything. That's unusual as vagisil has a numbing agent in it.

Hi! I know EXACTLY what your going through because it is happening to me right now as we speak. I would hold a hot water bottle or an ice pack(generally more soothing) on the affected folliculitis areas. And try leaning your upper body forward when you pee to avoid any urine hitting the affected areas which lesses gvd burning. Also I have been popping my sores (yes ouch) and putting oil-eliminating astringent on them and it seems to be helping. But you should be on antibiotics for the UTI which should also help the folliculitis. Yours sound much less wide spread than mine. Ive got more then 15 bumps and it has magically appeared symmetrically on my buttocks. Best of luck.
