I got these little bubbles after a sunburn that covered nearly all my upped body. I just washed a few times (about 3 days after the sunburn) and my skin is all peeling. I try not to rip it off, but its big parts of it. I'm like a child when these things happen... (well I'm only 22 so yeah) I tend to not wish to care. It itches a little, but its nothing I cant bear.
I'm just wondering if its better to take care of it or if it wont do much if I leave it that way.
I did apply "VICHY" aftersun lotion the day after I got the sunburn (over the whole area) about 5 times the last 2-3 days.
So basically... the skin of my nose peeled and the new one looks fine (lizard-like much) just a tad red, still... rest of my skin asking to be tore off... at this point the cream looks useless and after what I read here... its probably just the water from my body / shower that made it happen and is unrelated to the cream/lotion.

My skin is not sensitive to the sun either so... I'm either healing well or I'm a real badass ^-^
I'm just wondering if I should nvm the skin and let it drop on its own or rip it off or........ try to patch it with duck tape!!!

Halp :)

I was out in the sun tanning about a week ago and I fell asleep yikes. I didn't have any sunscreen on (I'm stupid) but now I've realized how important it is to wear it. I got 2nd degree burn with like blisters and stuff an I'm just scared they're never gonna go away. A lot of it has healed but there is a patch of very dry dead skin on my cheek that feels like a scab and Im not sure what to do. Some of it has healed but it's not healing very fast:/

You are talking about a sunburn like it's as bad as someone getting third degree burns in a flaming car crash. "You can make it through this don't give up!" REALLY?? It's just a goddamn sunburn. You ppl REALLY need to get a grip on reality.

I know this post is over a year old but I wanted to straighten some things up for people who find this looking for answers. If you have those oh so gross yellow bubbles then you have sun poisoning! YAYY! (not -__-) you only should pop the bigger ones by lancing. them with a clean needle. (they will drain for a day or two little bits at a time) Ibprophine will help the pain go away. And contrary to the posts above WATER IS BAD! water is what causes the blisters. It gets trapped under the dead skin from the burn and is held there until released. So the more you shower the bigger you risk them getting. If you can avoid showering do it. Aloe gel helps and if you can then hell, for the first few days don't ware clothing over it, it's just down right painful. Best of luck. I have sun poisoning as I type this so you will survive. ;)

I got sunburnt while I was at the beach a few days ago. My chest got severly burnt and after continuously rubbing aloe cream on the affected skin, I started to feel better. Just recently I got these bumps that every one is talking about and being an id**t I scratched them off because they were annoying me. My skin began to peel and I pulled at the skin to make the peeling less noticible. Now I have patches of nice tan skin with other skin that is white and looks like I have a skin disease. I'm wondering if there is anything I can do. I don't want to have these nasty patches anymore.

It's nothing to be concerned about:) they are just pockets of trapped sweat under a thin layer of dead skin after a sunburn. They do not hurt if scratched or popped. It's probably better if you exfoliate your entire body to get rid of them (I wouldn't want icky trapped sweat all over my body) but be warned. After you do this, that dead skin will start to peel. That's why it's good to keep exfoliating your skin every shower.

I remember that I was in the first grade and my arms where sun burned so badly after a few days of hurting then came on the peeling and that hurt soo badly and then a few months passed and they had finally healed and the next day some blisters appeared on my arms my dad just thought that they were zits but he will know sooner or later.
