Okay, my fuzzy brain read "troll"..made sense at the time.
So, for those of us living in a state without a turnpike, what exactly is 'toll' painting?

Too funny! Turnpike! Ha! Took me a minute, but HA HA! And if I'm not mistaken there's probably a society for the prevention of painting of trolls. Here's what I googled up just for you: The word "tole" according to good ole Merriam-Webster refers to sheet metal and especially tinplate used in domestic and ornamental wares. Historically, the phrase "Tole Painting" was used to describe the art of decorative painting on tin, which began in New England in the latter half of the 18th century. It's said that those who could not afford fine china learned to "fancy up" their tinware with paint. Over the years, the phrase "tole painting" has been gradually included under the umbrella of "decorative painting" and expanded to include painting on a wide variety of surfaces (wood, glass, porcelain, fabric, ceramic and pottery as well as tin) and incorporating a wide variety of today's mediums and techniques. Many styles of folk art, stenciling, gold leafing, trompe l'oeil, faux finishing and the beautiful Norwegian Rosemaling and Russian Zhostovo are all examples of decorative painting according to the contemporary definition.

Picking my nose.I'd be multi-tasking... picking with one hand and holding my beer in the other hand. Oh wait, I still do that even though I run... If I hadn't started running again 14 yrs ago i'd be a lard-ass wishing I looked like I do now. Hmmmm...now there is a weekend bonus challenge for our next virtual race! Picking your nose, drinking beer and running all at the same time! And you will need to have your picture taken as proof! Extra bonus points to whoever can do it without a nose bleed!

OMG - its TOLE painting.....
thank you Airehead.....
not troll as in hairy green guy
not toll as in turnpike booth
but TOLE as in obnoxiously painting wooden things when you are bored out of your skull.
TOLE painting---whatever it's called-- its a midlife suburban wife with kids in school and hairsprayed do, gathering at stirrup-pant and pooh sweatshirt wearing friends' homes to paint c**p. i'm not interested.
I wanna runnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

And here I was fixin' to send you your very first pair of stirrup pants. Sigh. I guess I'll just have to wear them to the next wives' function here on the AFB. I still think troll painting is far more fascinating. Maybe the trolls don't enjoy it much.
