It is usually causes by an imbalance of bad bacteria. You can get it by sex, wiping back to front, smoking etc. I have done some research on this too because I think I have it but my mum is a nurse but I'm scared to say incase I'm wrong. The signs of it is: Grey, white or yellow discharge, fishy smell or itching around your vagina.

Hi, I'm 13 and I have the same problem with you but my dad doesn't live with me and I'm scared to tell my mom... I have researched BV and how to get rid of it and I found some things.. Eating 8 ounces of plain organic yogurt everyday... Washing down there with apple cider vinegar... Mixing a few drops of tea tree oil with water and washing... That's all I got. I haven't tried these yet because my mom might get suspicious. But I'll just man up and tell her soon.. I hope this helps u! Good luck

I'm 13 years old. I've been experiencing horrible itchiness on my vagina, and I'm really embarrassed to say anything to my mom. I've also smelt faint fishy odors and its gross, the discharge is a tad greyish. I don't want to go to the doctors, because I'm scared they'll they're gonna check down there. Hi ladies. You could possibly have bacterial vaginosis, possibly a yeast infection, or both. I suggest you go see a Midwife, Women's Health Nurse Practitioner or Obstetrician/Gynecologist. They can do a test that can determine if it is bacteria, yeast or both in your vagina. Ask if you can perform a vaginal culture yourself. All that is required is placing a small swab in the vagina and moving it around and then giving them the swab to send for culture. If you find a really understanding health care professional, they will allow you to do this without an exam. Then you can be properly treated.
