Hi Kiran: Have you always had irregular periods? If so this is just you! IF it just started happening, believe it or not it could actually be pre menopause!!!! o.O Women are younger and younger getting pre menopause, as are younger and younger girls getting their periods.

If the irregular has just started happening there are SO many reason why. Stress, Smoking, poor diet, etc. etc. Usually underweight or women who OVER exercise get irregular periods, not usually us "Curvier" women ;-) So like I said, if it's always been the case, you're just wonky XD IF it's just now, look at things that are happening in your life.

IF you have pain with it and tender ovaries, then you need to get checked out by a doctor, could have something to do with your ovaries or hormones. Isn't bein a woman great!!!! ;-) XD Good luck hon!

I think that a lot of what bambi27 has posted is fairly accurate, although you are right in guessing that losing a bit of weight may help you with more regular periods.

Have you always had irregular periods though or is this fairly recent? Do you take birth control pills? Answers to these questions would help a bit. Please let us know how things turn out.
