I had severe chemical burns from always pads where they literally ate through my skin. I switched to Kotex and haven't had a problem since if that helps.

Totally understand what you mean. I end up with little cuts all around this area. They clear up in a few days, but it's very uncomfortable and makes me not even want to put cream/polysporin on since it hurts to touch.

I switched to stayfree years ago after having the same problem and I never have a probelm with stay free. This time I had to buy always as there was no stayfree at the store and I'm feeling the irritation.

Just went to a demo tonight on a sanitary pad that is food grade, has no bleaches or chemicals, has no nasty glues just food base gum from plants. They are called Winion. Its absorbancy is amazing compared to other brands. There is no wet feeling. And it has a special strip that somehow holds oxegen that stops oder as it stops bacteria breeding. I went as my friend and her daughter have been using the produts. She says she uses a 1/4 of the amount of pads now (she is a nurse so as gross as that sounds, if you can get to a demo or reserch on line yyou can see how sanitary they are) The pads are completely sealed to air so no more collecting stuff from the bottom of your handbag. Anyway sharing as I was amazed at them and horrified to learn normal pads contain recycled, bleached paper and glue that is casnogenic. I know we are not eating them but our skin breaths, Scary thought. They can be ordered online. I am pregnant atm but look foward to trying something that should end my constant thrush issues......always after my period.

I fold a tissue and put it between my vagina and the pad. If I feel any irritation, I'll put vaginal cream or vaseline on the tissue. This has eliminated the blisters xaused by sanitary napkins for me.

Hey, I noticed that you said to still contact you if you still have problems with sanitary pads. I am 15 and every time I am on my menstrual cycle, I always wear pads. And every time I do I get itchy and very sore. The first time I told my mother about it, she said that it's because I'm using the brand Always. Stating that Always has latex in the pad. I'm allergic to latex. We then switched over to the brand Kotex. The itching and burnin stopped for two more periods and then it started up again. I told my mother but she won't listen to me. She said there is no latex in it so I shouldn't be complaining... But I am. It really hurts... Please help me..

I use always infinity pads because I love their absorbency but they irritate my skin so I've found Vaseline & baby powder helps, sometimes I also take advantage of when I'm laying down to pull my pad away from that area. I hate the irritation from pads but I'm very prone to yeast infections and UTIs so I prefer to stay away from tampons. I'd rather suffer a little irritation for 2 or 3 days rather than an unbalanced pH.

i get irritation if i shave right before my period. Thankfully im on birthcontrol so i know exactly when i get my period so i make sure i dont shave 3 or 4 days before hand. I also discovered that if i get name brand it irritates me but if i get store brand like riteaid or walgreens then i am fine.
