the last day of my period, i noticed peeling on outside of my vagina, the labia. I thought at first it could be a yeast infection but there's no discharge. I've had yeast infections before and it seems a bit different.
I'm thinking it could be irritation from the pads..because i haven't used pads in a while and i went back to them this time ..so maybe my body wasn't use to it? I stopped using the pads as my period ended and it almost seems to be peeling even more. It itches a little but not that bad...
could this be a mild yeast infection. i'm out of town and won't be able to get to a doctor for a nother 5 days. i'm hoping it's just irritation or a rash similar to diaper rash maybe? will this go away on it's own?

pads can cause that ..some people just have to change them more often ,i can get irritated like that also, but hydrocortisone cream ,or Vagicreme?(think thats the name ,should help)

I was just wondering if it would go away on its own. It doesn't really even itch it's just peeling. Could i just put regular dry skin lotion on? - because that seems to be what it is.

I get that too as I cant use tampons (never have been able too)
only I get rashy as well as skin peeling around that area.
I find that although it basically happens to me everytime, changing pads quite often does help a little.
Name brand pads all use strange chemicals (to "absorb" more, etc) and its tough to say if the vagina should even be exposed to them but it is what it is.
Using a cream will help, but probably a visit to a doctor to check for allergies and other sorts of things would be even more helpful.
Another option is to find some hypo-allergenic pads. You can pick those up at any health food store and possibly some grocery stores. Even if you are not allergic, the pads don't contain any chemicals and work just as well. I hope that helps.
I realize how late this post is, but for other women experiencing the same thing who search this, it might be helpful.
