I had managed to improve my cycling speed and endurance to that extent that I seriously considered turning pro. Like many things in life, when you are about make a big step forward there is always something that pulls you back. I sustained a leg injury which healing lasted for six months. I know that I lost my good form but I am recovered now and ready for road. What are your suggestions?

I hoped that you have checked with your doctor and that he said that it was OK for you to resume your training. If so, then you should proceed slowly. Don’t try to pick up where you left off six months ago. Start with half of that. See how it feels and how you do with such task. If you see that you can do more, then you should GRADUALLY increase your distance/speed until you reach your desired level of fitness. I would give myself months for that if I were you. However, you’ll be surprised how fast you will get back in form.
