Hello,
I’ve been suffering from irritable bowels syndrome for several years now and so far I’ve learned and adjusted my diet so that I manage to keep my IBS under some control. The problem is, my diet is pretty bland and boring and it’s really interfering with my social life. It’s hard when I go out with friends for dinner and have to ask for special meal, without any spices or heavy food. I recently read that some spices don’t cause worsening of the IBS symptoms, mainly referring to paprika - both fresh and dried. Chilli is out of question, of course, but does anyone know if plain paprika (or dried, as spice) can cause problems when you have irritable bowels syndrome?

I totally feel your pain, I had IBS and I remember how it totally controlled my life. I have never had a problem with paprika, but it's not something I use a lot. What really turned me around was adding peppermint oil to my water, have you ever tried it?
