I need some advice from you. I have some problems with my vaginal area. It is much more red then usual, and I cannot have sex with my husband because it is painful. I first thought that I might have some urinary infection because I started urinating more frequently. I gave a sample of my urine to be analyzed but it turned negative. Is this thrush or something else?

It can be thrush, and it is mostly confused with urinary infections. The cause of this thrush is Candida albicans, fungus that can be found almost everywhere. It usually has successful attacks when someone's immune system level is low. It can also infect pregnant women, people on steroids or suffering from diabetes. Anyway, this condition is easily treated with gels, creams and ointments.
