I have this issue with ALL wines containing Sulfites. If I ignore the warning and continue to drink, I become extremely intoxicated with a single glass of wine and quickly begin to violently vomit. It took me a few years, and a few blackouts from the Millenial Moscato craze, before I pinned down a sulfite allergy.

I have noticed a painful and tender nasal tip after consumption of alcohol. The symptom starts the day after and persists for a few days. There is no swelling. The pain is mild but very nagging. How to get rid of it?

I have had this problem for years. It’s painful, annoying, and can ruin a time that should be relaxing and enjoyable.
My theory is that, for some inexplicable reason, the salivary glands at the back of the jaw get irritated. By what, I have no idea, but I do have a strategy for making it go away. First, though, for me this pain never happens with hard liquor; only with beer or wine. So I believe it has something to do with the fermentation process. Anyway, here’s how I get rid of it:
Get a glass of water that is hotter than warm, but not hot. Take a mouthful of the water, tilt your head back, and swish the water from the back left of your jaw to the back right of your jaw, about 30 seconds or so. Use a little bit of force as to push the water into the salivary gland. Take a break for a couple of minutes, then repeat the process. The pain will be gone in about 15 minutes; for me anyway. If the pain comes back, repeat the process. It always works for me.

I get this and get a skin rash with sulfa antibiotics. Definitely could be related!

It may be Tmj, im trying to research this my self. the jaw muscle tightens with emense pressure, so I stick my two fingers in my mouth on the back of my cheek muscle and put pressure until the muscle kinda relaxes. Not sure if its tmj but it sounds like it fits to me. Still researching! I had braces on my teeth as an adolescent that may have caused part of my tmj or it may have been hereditary from my grandma cuz I remember my grandma complaining about headaches and jaw pain and there isn't much known about tmj so she had no idea at the time what was causing her pain.

I have that too. Idon't drink often, but when I do my jaw cramps when I have my girst couple drinks. I have always thought it was because I hold tension in my mouth and jaw, and it was a reaction to the alcohols relaxing those muscles. Once they are more relaxed the pain stops.

Yes! This happens to me and I’m allergic to sulfa drugs! So cool to understand. It happened to me recently with Tito’s vodka I’m curious if it has sulfites.

I suffer intense jaw pain when eating and consuming alcohol , I should note I don’t drink much , probably 1 or 2 units a month max , but this happens whether the food is hot or cold and the drink is cold or room temp .I must be very sensitive to alcohol as the last time this happened the drink in question always labelled as less than .02% proof .

I also noticed it recently when drinking Dos Equis with lime! I've never had any issues with this before, though I sometimes get a moment of this pain when eating sharp cheese, or sour candy but it's rare. I've never had it with beer before, and it never lasted more than a few seconds. It seems to mostly go away when I move my jaw around, though it does hurt.
I was initially thinking it was the lime, and I still kind of do, bc it doesn't seem to happen with any other alcoholic beverage. I don't think there's anything wrong with my pancreas. Hope someone figures this out.
