Hi, I found your post to be extremely helpful. How long after the removal that you were able to have sex? Thanks :)

You seem so knowledgeable about this. I have the same thing, except in the last 2 days mine has doubled, maybe tripled in size and the out layer of the labia minora skin is shedding. There has been a light but evidently constant flow of blood coming from it because there is always some blood on my pad whenever I used the restroom. I'm trying to keep it clean, but I think it may be infected. I hate talking about these things with anyone, but I'm going to make an appointment with a Gynae asap. Until then, any ideas on what I should do???

Ladies...I am a nurse and it sounds like all of your gynes are totally uninformed. Had these myself--they are GENITAL WARTS--the most common std. People DO mistake
them for skin tags. It's a virus...just like regular warts. The sole test is to wipe then with a vinegar soaked cotton ball--if it/they turn white...watts. Once you have the virus in your system...you will always have it. It lies dormant in your body and then pops up whenever. They can be brought ony stress. You may have a breakout every month...once every 5 yrs or never again after the initial one/ones. VERY contagious. Nothing to prevent them from being transmitted to others...other than condoms--but that's only if they are on the shaft itself. You can get them anywhere...even around your anus. They are taken off by acid application in the md office or a "punch" biopsy to confirm diagnosis and remove them at the same time-but be aware that leaves a scar. Even if you deliver a a baby vaginally--you can pass it to baby. Be an advocate for yourself and ask the MD about this possibility....and get the PROPER treatment. Been through this for 10+ yrs--one oft sec partners had to have day surgery b/c he had so many on my penis and the surrounding area...it was just tooth to do in office treatment. Good luck

I know this was a while ago but I thought I would post since I literally just had the same thing! I was exercising when I noticed some burning pain in the vulvar area, so I went to check it out a bit later and was surprised to find a dangling red ball about the size of a blueberry. I went into shock! I couldn't believe it because it popped up over the course of an hour or two. It started to shrink back down after a few hours. I saw my OBGYN and he said it appeared to be part of my labia minora, not a skin tag or a growth like I assumed. I had it removed yesterday. They are going to biopsy it. The removal was OK -- they gave me a shot of lidocaine first and then snipped it off. The stalk was so small it didn't even require stitches. But it did bleed quite a bit since that area is quite vascular. Good luck to those who are dealing with this!
