Hey,
I had the surgery 5 days ago, and i am happy sofar. Things are going smooth.
Its too swollen to see the end result but the pain in minimum and I can do everything.
But just to be on the safe side I am being calm so i am not doing any sports for 4-6 weeks. But i do walk alot and do my everyday things.
Its still bleeding a bit, but the doctor said that that is normal.

To avoid infection you should rinse your vagina with water everything after you go to the bathroom for the first 5 days.
DO NOT take a bath, the warm water will cause your stitches to dissolve faster, which is bad for the healing process and the looks!
Put Vaseline or nivea on your pads or whatever you put in ur underwear, so that the wound wont stick to it and cause you to open the wound when you remove the pad.
And COOL it as much as possible! Best is 10 minutes every hour for the first few days. The swelling will go down by ALOT!
But dont put the coolpack straight on the wound. Put a pad or whatever between it. Direct contact isnt hygenic or healthy.

For me it isnt a nightmare at all!
I am happy i finally did it, and i expected to feel alot worse. But i feel fine and i hope for an amazing result!
Make sure you research your plastic surgeon or hospital! Its an important part of your body, you want it to go well and look nice eventhough it costs a little more! Its worth it!

I had labia surgery 5 days ago. Surgeon cut much lower then wanted at base of left side where not even excess tissue. I didn't realize prolapse in rectal area hasworsened since last I was told over 15 yrs ago. Digestive problems were never asked in all consults. I started with close and Metamucil day before surgery. On day 3 I barely strained and stitches that i didn't even expect to be that low ever started to bleed through all the way to top of left labia. Now twice as swollen as right side. I'm terrified to have BM. Even holding tissue there to hold prolapse in still not 100% effective.
Upset I'm dealing with a part of my labia that shouldn't have been touched. But now just trying to get through this. Has anyone had this happen? I feel I may need to move to straight laxatives until I'm more healed.

I'm 6 weeks post up and one labia is way more swollen than the other. Did you experience this or any kind of swelling at the 6 week mark?

I just got the surgery hours ago and I am absolutely freaked out! I wasn't even told I'd need 2 wear a period pad and I have not stopped bleeding 4 hours on end. I was told 2 take tylenol IF I had pain- this is excruciating!!!!!! My gyno made no big deal. She said she hadn't performed many of these surgeries, so another female dr. was going 2 sit in. I guess trusting that ANY surgical procedure is no big deal is insanely stupid on my part. I should have known better. In my defense, I have NEVER been in a Hospital except 2 give birth. I called the ER and they said 2 come in, but if I move the pain is unbearable and I cannot stop bleeding. This is a nightmare! I feel like reporting the Dr & the whole team at the Hospital 4 dismissing my worry and all my questions like I was overreacting. I can only hope now, It will at least look nice and help with my constant infections. I hope I'll be ok.
