I have been on Lamectal for many years, taking 100 mg tablets. My experience with it has been with feeling tired or "rung out", but no sickness or nausea.

I have been using lamictal for about 9-10 months. I don't remember feeling ill at all. I was given it because years after taking Paxil for depression the Shrink and I decided I was bi polar. Yeah!!!! I take 150 mg in the morning and again at night. Yup I'm crazy. I may not have noticed the signs, I also take 1 mg of xanax, and 30 mg of Paxil at bedtime. One thing that I have noticed about the Lamictal is if I don't take my morning dose before 10 or 11 am I start feeling a little strange with tingling around my mouth and and feeling off balance or dizzy.

I have been taking lamictal for 3 1/2 years and was told I had to take 100 mg over what other people take because the dilantin cancels out the first 100mg. My counselor and brother said they could see a difference, and I could see it certain irrational fears, but it does not lessen the deep depression particularly. I also have the feeling that it has ceased to work. Has anybody had this problem? also, any weight loss?
I don't trust doctors about any of these medications. I'd rather be depressed than go through some of the stuff I read about on here.

I was taking lamictal for 1 year, I never felt sick or any of the side effects that everybody is talking about. When I started dating my husband he wanted me to stop taking and I did. I didn't just stop taking it all together but I slowly stopped. The only thing is that I have not taken it in six months and now I am starting to feel like I need to take it again. I feel like it really helped me a lot. Now that I am having a hard time I feel like I need it again. It really helped me! The only thing is that he doesn't want me to take it because we are trying to get pregnant? I hope that it helps some of you to know that it did help me, just give it time. I took 150mg and I was fine but I slowly worked up to that and I saw my doctor every week to get there. Is there anyone that took it while pregnant and did it bother you? :-) :-)

you said that you took lamectal while pregnant? I assume that your doctor was aware of it and said that it was ok? I use to take it but my husband that that it was good for me to stop taking it while were going to try and get pregnant soon after we got married. Well we have been married a year and I am pregnant. I want to start taking it again and wasn't sure if it was ok. Either way I don't have any I would have t consult with my doctor.

I was put on lamictal in August and developed a severe skin rash, red, itchy now on both legs, lower and upper portions. Now seeing a dermatologist for the skin disorder. I think the physician who recommended it for a recovering alcoholic to control (RAGE) is an out and out KOOK! It did nothing for me mentally. My AA program is working beautifully, now I just can wear a dress or shorts because of this skin disorder that looks awful and causes me a great deal of anxiety at night when trying to sleep instead of itch.
