My husband has been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer of the kidney, spleen, adrenal glad and part of his pancreas. A surgeon wants to remove all organs at once as he suspects this is a Sarcoma cancer. They think the cancer started in the kidney and spread to the other "solid" organs from there. The surgeon says this is an "easy" surgery but I know that's not the case. He operates and then sends you on your way. My husband may need dialysis after this surgery if his remaining kidney does have good output. I am trying to figure out what life after this surgery will be like. The surgeon says his life will go back to normal and there will be no dietary changes. I find this hard to believe. Has anyone had this type of surgery before? And, what can we expect afterwards? I am sure chemotherapy will be involved; don't know about radiation. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
