I am a 47 year old who had a hysterectomy 4 months ago. I had one ovary removed also. I have had a light pink watery discharge following sexual activity only. This does not occur at any other time. I do feel some days, my bladder does leak. This varies from day to day. The pink discharge, again, occurs only after sexual intercourse. Is this due to healing that is still going on deep within the vagina and will this eventually stop?

Hello there! It is very strange that you are experiencing this pink discharge 4 months after. I also had hysterectomy done and I had the discharge without having sex. My gyno said this is normal and that it may last for up to 2 months. I guess that was sutures dissolving.
It is also said that recovery should take max 2 months but I guess that’s individual.
It is certain that you are irritating SOMETHING during an intercourse probably from the pressure or friction. Have you removed the cervix as well?
When was the last time you had follow-up and pap smear done?
Although you have kept one ovary, you may be experiencing lower levels of estrogen. Low estrogen levels make you vagina dry and vaginal walls thin. When vaginal walls are thin, they are more prone to bleeding after sex.

Had the same problem 5 mo after my hysterectomy. Turned out to be a growth that developed at the suture site at the top of the vault. Had to have another surgery to have itremoved. Its been another 5 months now and all seems better.
