Lis franc fracture healing without surgery

Just had the lis franc surgery today after being sent home from an e.r w/ a sprain 6mnths ago. When first injured I was off it for 6-8 on crutches. But then went weight bearing bcuz I thought it was 'fine' well Ibe been having pain and loss of movement still so I went to a specialist 4 days ago that had me in surgery today had the tightrope put in and he fixed the ligaments and some leftover damage from a childhood fracture. I'm in alot of pain but it'll be worth it. Jw how to rest it properly and not bear weight or hv pain..thank u for you posting was informative!

It really hard and painful life. I have been asked to do surgery but I’m avoiding surgery and would like to wait for natural healing

Looks like all these posts are old, so I'm assuming you have all healed or had surgery. I just injured my foot on 5-12-2018, so I have just seen an orthopedic surgeon. I have a displacement of the second and third toe. Of course he immediately want to do surgery to put in pins, which of course requires another surgery to remove the pins. I am non weightbearing and would prefer either the fusion surgery or to let it heal on its own. Really prefer to let it heal since I can't afford to have surgery. How has anyone else done with just letting it heal on it's own. I am 55 years old and not overly active, although I do enjoy walking and I already have arthritis in other parts of my body. Would appreciate any advice or suggestions.

Hi, how did your recovery go without surgery? I'm in the same boat... have a partial tear and doctor pushed for surgery but also have an option for cast and NWB for 4 weeks... had absolutely no pain last week but ever since the cast 5 days ago, some tingling on the bottom of my foot and some pressures in the arch..
