I also have asymptomatic low platelet count. it ranges from 36000 to 60000. Once I had pappaya leaf juice for seven days and the count improved to 100,000 but quickly dropped thereafter. It is still apuzzle why this happens. My haematologist asked me to keep track of this on a monthly basis and report if platelet count falls below 30,000

at my recent annual, as my doctor was going over the blood tests, I asked what's with the yellow line. he said that's your platelets. we don't worry about that unless it is under 30m. I asked why they were lower than normal, he said he had no idea. my doctor of long standing is not easily rattled. all else was normal, including weight and pressure. so I wouldn't be too worried. I would be concerned with the bruising and monitor that. hope this is helpful

my count is 65. i am recently retired from the air force (1 Oct 16) and finally the VA is getting my blood tested. had other blood issues while serving including severely high red blood cell count which i was told i had polycythemia vera which in fact now I don't because my red blood cell count is perfect. my B1tch is military medical.. tried to get more blood tests done while in and it never happened. every specialist (non-military doc) all told me i needed to see a hematologist asap.. been deployed in combat 5 times and this is the thanks I get. by the way this has been an issue for over a year.

Looking into why son has low platelets. 2 doctors have found nothing. Ran into articles about stress and anxiety and low platelet link. Also found Van Willibrand disease but can't seem to get him tested for that (where blood also clumps)

I have been at a count of 26 for over 6 months. They call mine an accidental find when I went to emerg for shortness of breath. Turned out I had heart failure which I recovered from quickly. ITP not so easy. I have no med to take because they don’t help but they do have a problem getting a count because my platelets clump. The cardiologist told me because of that getting an accurate count is hard. So if they count 26, I could be 52 because they stick together. I clot right away if I cut myself and only have very short gum bleeds. I cross my fingers that it goes into remission because the only thing I haven’t been test for is bone marrow. Best to you on your ITP roller coaster.

Yes 6 is low blood count is suppose to be 12 anything lower then 8 should require iron pill and possible blood transfusion at 6! I had this issue! They wanted to do blood transfusion but I took the IV iron option and it bright it up! I was losing a lot of blood from my mental which cause my blood count to drop! They found blood cloths in my lungs so I was put on blood thinners which caused me to bleed heavily! Please see another doc if this doc is not prescribing her the right medication! This may be the reason why she’s weak and passing out!

If your low blood platelet count is the result of alcohol consumption, how long after you discontinue consumption should you see a notably improved blood count?

Hi. My sister is in the hospital for 2 days. Her platelet count has dropped to 60. She has no fever, no bruises, no bleeding. I'm beginning to worry. The doctor can't still explain what is happening. Do you have any advice?
