Hi, I'm 16 years old and just yesterday I started to notice my right testicle was feeling like it was hanging low. And after I got out of the shower my testes were hanging very low (lower than I'v ever seen them) and I sort of went into a panic. After the shower they returned to normal but the right one still feels like its hanging low. And it appears to be farther backwards than the other one. They do not hurt to the touch, its just that sensation. Is this normal? Will it go away? Should I see a doctor?

I've been reading a lot on testicular cancer, and thats freaking me out too. According to it I have at least one of the symptoms. I don't beleve I have a lump or anything though.

I'd appreciate any advice. I'm just not sure what to do. :-(

(PS sorry i double posted this, it was on accident)

It's not unusal for a scrotum or testicle to hang lower after a hot shower.

It's part of the temperature regulation effort to protect the sperm.

As the testicle seemed to return to normal later, I would not worry.

As far as having cancer, just because you have one symptom, don't jump to the conclusion of cancer.

It's good to be concerned enough to learn about TCancer, but as long as you are doing self-checks, you're doing well. Have an annual check with your doc or the school trainer or coach, and you'll be in good shape.

PS: A torsion or twisting of the testicle is a most common problem among young men. It can happen when sleeping. If you suspect this or have concerns of a twisted testicle, run, don't walk to your doctor. Time is of the essence to fix this.

I really doubt you have testicular cancer. I had the EXACT same thing but I had a mole to go along with it, so I understand the anxiety. I would go to the doctor immediately to relieve the anxiety! Having a low hanging... nut, if you will, is completely normal. How much lower is different with each person. If it hangs down to your ankles, yeah, see a doctor about that.
