I have had a lip piercing for the past two years and I have been very happy with it. It healed with no problems initially and it does look great! Now, a small lump has started to form on the outer part of the piercing, and it is kind of painful as well. What do you recommend I do about this?

Piercings in such vulnerable spots never heal completely, I believe, and the chances of infection are always there, particularly in the case that you don't keep it clean enough. I suggest you take the piercing out, and clean it with something like saline water, a couple times a day. Then insert the piercing again. I think this will clear up the infection, though you should see your GP if it doesn't work.
