hi,
My dad is 58.And has a huge stomach. when he lies on his back and lift both his legs up into the sky, an oval lump appears on his stomach. It is above his belly button adn below his chest. It's soft and poses no pain or problem of any sort. What is that lump? does it mean anything?
Thank you very much.Hope you would reply.

That lump is subcutaneous fat. It is formed due to a drastic slowing in metabolism as a person ages.

I acquired my instant bulge while lifting furniture in a high bed truck, while having the flu. I felt a broad protuberance deep below my abdominal flesh. It was not painful and to this day, fifteen years later, it still remains non-painful. I'm slightly overweight but nowhere near obese. 6 foot,185 lbs. It appears only during leg lifts and crunches. One immature East Indian doctor from Kaiser said it was a hernia, four other doctors scoffed at this immediate appraisal and provided no analysis or prescription.
