Hello everybody,

My dad has been diagnosed with stage III lung cancer two years ago and went through both surgery and chemo. For all this time he’s been suffering from horrible coughing fits that even caused him to black out from the exhaustion. At this point his doctor prescribed him codeine cough syrup which does help, but it’s not nearly enough relief for someone who coughs almost during the whole 24 hours. It’s becoming very hard to live like this for him since the coughing is practically tied him to the house – the fits come and go on their own. Given that he has stage III lung cancer, should his doctor be allowed to prescribe him something more effective, even if it’s an opioid medication?

I think you should go for Immunotherapy as it is painless with higher success rate and it has no side effects.
