I was just recently diagnosed with Lupus and I realized that just even two drinks make me sick sometimes.  I don't feel drunk I just feel bad.  I realize I need to cut back  and I want to know how the Lupus effects my medications and how it would effect my blood alcohol level should it be tested.  Will my body metabolize the alcohol differently?  Slower, faster (not at all)?  Apprieciate any help.  thanks.

Hey Baby Bear, I don't know about the blood alcohol levels but I do know that since I have had lupus even a couple sips of anything with alcohol makes my face get really red and heat starts pouring out then I just get really nauseous and sleepy. Before I became sick I could out drink all my friends and now I can not drink at all with them. LUPUS SUXS!!!! I wish you well on your lupus journey.

I completely have the same problem, I have not had a drink in 3 yrs until recently, and a beer made me sick a few months ago, so I tried wine, sick again. Last night I had 3 beers and lost muscle control in arms and legs, nausea like I've never had, i was covered in sweat, my equilibrium was so messed up it was scary. I'm a girl that drank men under the table in college. Now thanks to lupus, I can't even enjoy a glass of wine. Do not drink if you have it- that's my advice. Our bodies are already compromised, medications can act adversely with alcohol. It's really a common sense thing in my opinion.
