Hi, not sure if anyone has any advice but here goes nothing.
I am a 23-year-old female, 125 lbs and 5 foot 4, I am Italian and Canadian descent. I have Celiac disease, low iron, and recently found our I am low in B12. I have been taking iron supplements for a long time to get my levels back to normal; however, I don't feel that low iron is affecting my situation because they have always been low. I also stick to GF alcohols, like GF beer, wine, plain vodka, plain run, plain gin, and GF cider. I drink about 1L to 1.5L of water a day, and the days that I know I will be drinking, I drink even more. For years I used to be able to drink, feel drunk, stop drinking and not get sick. I am your average college engineer, drinks heavy-ish on weekends or every second week. Sometimes a night or so a week Ill have a glass of wine. The problem
Now, when I drink 3-6 drinks over the span of 8 hours (with food) I will end up throwing up. This has been happening for over a year. One night a friend had a breathalyzer from Costco, we all tried it and I blew 0.06. I decided to open another beer that night but only got a few sips into it before I started feeling nauseous. It all seems like a guessing game, sometimes I feel like I am going to get sick and stop drinking, whereas other times I stop drinking and hours later I end up throwing up. I always throw up the night that I am drinking and not when I am hungover. I am now known as the girl who cant hold her liquor. But I dont understand, I dont feel drunk most of the time but end up needed to throw up. Here is an example from last weekend:
We started drinking at 6pm while eating our burgers we made. I ate my burger patty with toppings (bacon, onion, tomato, guacamole) wrapped in lettuce and a quinoa salad. I drank 3 beers and 2 ciders that night pacing myself. At about 2:30am I finished my last drink. Approximately 8 hrs and 5 drinks; our bodies are supposed to metabolize 1 drink per hour. I felt a little drunk but not white girl wasted. I ended up throwing up at ~4am. TMI WARNING, the vomit is never green / bile colored, just usually looks like my food. After my throwup session I went to bed and felt hungover the next day but didnt throw up. It seems not matter what alcohol I drink (gin, vodka, rum, GF beer etc..) this always happens. Even when I stick to one alcohol I will be throwing up aswell. Recently I went to the doctor and he got a blood test done to check for proper liver function. I haven't seen the doctor yet but I have received most of my results online. Sodium, Potassium, Creatinine, Bilirubin, Gamma GT, ALT, Cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, Chol/HDL, Non HDL Cholesterol, Triglycerides all came back normal. Thyroid function was normal HepB was negative LDL Cholesterol was low [ my value = 1.47, normal range =1.50-3.00] C Reactive Protein (High Sensitivity) was high [my value = 3.7, normal range = 0-3] I dont have any allergy spmtions (flush face, rash, etc..) and am completely fine when I have 1-3 drinks. Does anyone have any ideas what could be going on?
