I am age 60. I have suffered from Hemoroids since 1979 trip to Guatemala. Around 1986, I had a hemoroidectomy. Over these 30 years I have used a cream to control itching. composed of Hydrocortizone & Ketaconazole mixture. Lately I have worked in Edmonton AB, where there are no longer any doctors readily available to prescribe to me.
Why is this treatment which I have used for 30 years not available over the counter in Canada?
Back when there were enough doctors & they needed the business, and the medical plans could afford this luxury, it may have been acceptable.
But under these new conditions, it seems unfair! Or at least the prescription should be without expiry?
Presently available over-the-counter medications are useless!
Is there any good reason for this situation?
