I have had a very bad experience the mesh inserted through my vagina (10-2-08 I have chronic pain. A neuroma developed at the site of the incision. I only have about 3-4 good hours per day. Even then I have pain, but I can stand it. Usually I end up going to bed at 5 or 6pm. to wait for my medicine to help with the pain. My GYN wants to remove it. I have been told not to let amyone perform surgery on me by the special clinical at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill NC and also my neurologist, who I see for chronic pain. The neurologist talked with my GYN and agreed for me to have the prodecure to have the mesh removed as long as he doesn't touch anything else. I am SCARED? This is the first time he has had anyone with a problem with the mesh. I has never removed one, but the physician who train him to do the procedure recommended it. Am I asking for more trouble. I would love to hear from some one who had a successful removal and is happy with the results. Thanks
