Okay a little embarrassing but i just recently got over a yeast infection and a UTI, i took some over the counter stuff for the yeast infection and i went to the doctor for the UTI but I didn't finish the medication. Now i am experiencing occasional burning during urination and a white somewhat thick discharge...today it was a little pink. Does anyone have a clue what this could be...I know I should see a doctor but i have no insurance....please let me know what you think....!!!!

Hi, I'm not a total expert but I'll try to help. :-)
Why didn't you finish the medication? tsk tsk ;-)
If you think you still have the UTI, start drinking cranberry juice or apple juice if you can't stand cranberry (or mix both to help with the flavour) and take some vitamin C. This is to keep your bladder flowing with acidic urine, an environment bacteria hates. If you start feeling feverish, be sure to go see the doctor. The risk with UTIs is that they can go into the kidneys and you'll feel really sick then. Aim to pee every hour, to keep the bladder flushed clean.
(BTW if you are prone to UTIs, and are sexually active, be sure to empty your baldder before and after sex. This helps to clean out any bacteria that may be there. This trick works for me)
The discharge: if it's a yeast infection, will look like little cottage cheese clumps in the discharge. Don't be shy to smell it, if it has a bad odor, it may very well be an infection but not a yeast infection and the doctor will know best what medicine to suggest. But if you think it's still a yeast infection, go back to get an over-the-counter remedy but chose one that uses the other medication (go with the name of the one you just used and check the ingredients or ask the pharmacist. As far as I know, there are two major drugs to treat yeast infections) Also, choose the 3 or 7 day pack, not the one-pill one.
BUT have a good look at the discharge. If it's creamy or smooth, like lotion and you are heading towards your ovulation (about 12-14 days before your next period) or just past your ovulation, the discharge is normal, all part of the cervical fluid cycle. The pink you mentioned may be your period coming on (discharge after ovulation, until your period starts, will be thick and sometimes white, sometimes yellow tinged, becoming watery the day before or the day of your period)
Or, the thick white discharge is much like lotion textured and is pink because you are about to ovulate.
Oh jeez, I probably didn't have to make this post so long, I hope somewhere in there is information that helped you.
