Hi there,

I had the EA and mirena inserted 10 days ago. I went through the watery discharge stage the first week which made sense as part of the healing. Yesterday my period started which I did not expect, it's not the crazy flooding I had before but it's a period alright, with abdominal pain and discomfort. Honestly, I have been a bit down cast at this turn of events, however my first mirena came out as part of a large clot so I suspected this option might not be straight forward for me. My family is complete but I am not ready to go down the hysterectomy path and all that entails. How have things worked out for you?

I had my ablation done 15 years ago. Last year I started having periods with killer cramps. This year I started having extremely heavy bleeding. Had d& c twice. Today my doctor inserted the marina. So far I feel great. My doctor gave me medication to soften my cervix, cervical block. No pain. I

Yes I have had this procedure done and it absolutely fixed the problem. The procedure was simple and painless. It's been almost 5 years so we will removing the mirena soon. Fingers crossed that the flooding has stopped.

I just had it done 3 days ago both ablation and Mirena insertion and the only guidance I can advise is take the next day off. I went to work the next day and I should have stayed home to rest and take some me time.

I have had both and it has worked with the bleeding I had this done in 2014, after I had my baby as I fell pregnant on the marine coil after I had her in 2013 I didn't stop bleeding this is the reason for the ablation as I also have endometriosis so was advised this and the coil would help as I say I have not bled since or had a period .five weeks ago I started getting bad pains in my belly and felt the same way I did when I was pregnant with my four kids so I went to the doctors who seems to think I may be pregnant despite doing a test and it being negative and also being told that this was impossible after a ablation I am now waiting for a scan to confirm this but I'm petrified as it can be life threatining if I am will keep you posted .

I had an ablation in 2008 and a mirena put in in 2012. Everything was great for the first 2 years and then last fall I started spotting a little bit. Now, I'm having regular periods with intense pain in my lower left abdomen. I'm guessing that the endometrium may have grown back in 8 years and could be causing the problem (I'm 38, was only 30 when I had the ablation) but the ablation and mirena combined should have the bleeding stopped completely. Another guess is that the fibroids found during the ablation have increased in size and are causing the bleeding. I'm scheduled for an ultrasound next month, so hopefully they can figure it out.

I had this done over a year ago... Best decision I ever made!
Very little cramping afterwards and next to no bleeding 2 weeks after procedure...
Quick recovery of 1-2 weeks (back on work on full duties)...
I recommend this for any woman with heavy periods (using tampons and super pad as backup having to to change more than twice in a half hr)... Changed my life!!!

I had ablation performed in April this year but to no avail, still had heavy bleeding so started taking tranexamic acid which helped with the blood flow but is no a long term solution so I decided o ty the mirena, I had it fitted 5 weeks ago but after the first week I noticed considerable aching in my hips, especially my right hip, every time I got up from sitting or got up out of the car I was walking like I was 80 years old when I am 49! I couldn't figure out why this had suddenly started happening so I decided to google "Mireya coil and hip pain" and so glad I did as there were lots of forums with people having the same problems after having mirena fitted, and they were saying after having it removed the hip aching went away so I decided no time like the present!! I went to the bathroom and removed it myself, took all of 30 seconds, I just felt or the strings and gently pulled and it slipped straight out! Hat was last night so I will keep you posted if any change.

It's been a month since you posted, so I was wondering how your body reacted to the removal of the IUD?

I am glad to read this. I had an ablation on Dec 19, and am having an IUD put back in today. There is so little on the Internet about this. Even my doctor asked me to check with my insurance company to see if doing this is ok. She said most of her patients just get the Essure inserts, which I don't want.
